MIP donated $ 450K (3M TL) to the governmental social support plan to fight COVID 19 and support the affected families.
During the pandemic period, MIP bought 918 tablets for children who had limited opportunities and could not benefit from online education. MIP delivered them to those in need through the Directorate of National Education. MIP’s responsive movement has been appreciated in the city.
“Mersin International Port Primary School”, the latest addition to MIP’s roster of educational projects, is now open, serving the educational needs of Mersin.
MIP staff kids attended to the contest. Children not only emphasized the importance of safety with their paintings but also won surprise gifts in different categories.
The masks and mugs have been being sold with the support of the MIP Volunteer Club members were met with a great interest by the employees.
MIP has planted 3000 saplings within the scope of Go Green. Sapling planting certificate was received from Mersin Regional Directorate of Forestry. (6000 pine saplings were planted by MIP in total)
MIP has recycled materials which have been used at the port site and expired. The recycled materials returned to the kids studying in the MIP Primary School as an “environmentally friendly” park.
The campaign, which has been running for four years, aims to meet the needs of disabled relatives of MIP staff. Recently, the plastic caps collected in the campaign helped Atıl Geleç’s son, who is 15-year-old, overcome the obstacles they face.
Sea cleaning was done within the scope of Go Green and 300 kg of waste was collected. After cleaning the sea, we separate wastes, recyclable wastes are delivered to a licensed recycling firm.
MIP aimed to carry on with "Forest of Hope" project that will support our sustainability and environmental understanding for the new year. MIP will create 2 forest with 6000 saplings in total. Forest lands will be in Gaziantep and Ankara within MIP’s hinterland. Each forest will have 3K saplings. An e-certificate will be sent to all MIP’s stakeholders.
