As of 27th of December 2007, Mersin International Port has completed studies for the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) and in accordance with the Port Security Plan it has presented to the Undersecretariat of Maritime Affairs, has obtained the ISPS Code Compliance Certificate. While MIP ensures port security within the ISPS Code Compliance Certificate framework, it additionally applies the rules stated in the "Mersin International Port Inc. Security Plan", approved by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication.
